3 Card Poker
The history, rules, and regulations of this exciting casino classic.

The History of 3 Card Poker
From humble beginnings to a global casino favorite
A fairly new game at the tables, 3 Card Poker was created by former professional gambler Derek Webb in 1994 under its former name Casino Brag, with the vision that poker could be played at the speed of other table games.
Like any new game, 3 Card Poker was initially a challenge for casinos to adopt. The UK, for example, had gambling regulations that made it difficult to introduce. The game was first adopted by Grand Casino Gulfport in Mississippi, with Webb himself training the dealers.
In 2002, eight years after its creation, the UK amended gambling regulations, opening casino tables to 3 Card Poker. With Shuffle Master’s promotions and the new name 3 Card Poker, it quickly gained explosive popularity and became a casino staple worldwide.
